SHILLONG: Integrated check gates with sensors will be set up to check revenue leakages, Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma told the Assembly on Thursday.

Replying to a pending question by Clifford Marak (GNC) on trucks carrying coal through check gates without proper assessment, the Chief Minister said that the setting up of integrated check gates will be expedited.

“The installation of the check gates with sensors which will capture the number plates of the vehicles and assess the load of trucks is expected to increase the revenue collection,” he said.

According to the Chief Minister, the data recorded in the check gates can be monitored centrally from the headquarters following the new installation.
