SHILLONG: Transport Minister HDR Lyngdoh informed that the Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) is running at a loss in its venture to ply buses across the State besides Guwahati and Silchar.

“The expenditures are more than the receipts,” Lyngdoh said while replying to a question raised by Embhah Syiemlieh during the Autumn Session of the Assembly here on Thursday.

Lyngdoh informed that the total annual receipt of the MTC is Rs 79.91 lakh against an annual expenditure of Rs 107.5 lakh.

While replying to a supplementary question raised by NPP legislator James K Sangma, the Transport Minister admitted that there are outstanding dues which have to be paid to the employees of the Corporation.
