Lok Adalat

JOWAI: The Deputy Commissioner-cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the office of the District Legal Services Authority, West Jaintia Hills District in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, Shillong will organise a Lok Adalat (People Court) at Thomas Jones Synod College Jowai on the November 25 from 10 AM onwards.
The List of cases referred to Lok Adalat are listed in the office of the District Session Judge (Judicial Branch) Jowai.
List of litigants or parties whose case are listed for trial at the Lok Adalat are advise to avail this opportunity in order to settle their cases with the help of conciliators duly appointed for the purpose.

Dry day declared

JOWAI: The East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, has declared October 14 as Dry Day in the entire East Jaintia hills district on account of Durga puja celebration.
Whole salers, IMFL retailers, Outstillers and Country spirit will remain closed on the day.
