Body recovered
* On October 21 at around 11:30am, one unidentified male body (35/40) was found hanging from a tree at Mahadeo Khola, Upper Shillong.
* On October 19, one unidentified male body was recovered from Thip Dombah (WKH). One bicycle was also recovered from the PO.
Extortionists arrested
* On the morning of October 21, police arrested four GSU members – Odit Sangma (33), Tengban Marak (20), Manseng Marak (26) and Sangku Sangma – while they were allegedly extorting money at Raksamgre area (WGH).
* On October 18, residents of Baghmara apprehended and beat up Shakti M Sangma (23), while he was allegedly extorting money at Baghmara Bazar (SGH). He was later handed over to the police.
Assault
* On October 19 at around 9:30pm, unidentified miscreants allegedly assaulted one Pradip Jamatia (33) at Delight Restaurant, Iewduh. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was moved to Civil Hospital.
* On October 19 at around 11:30pm, four people – John Paul Nongrum (20), Upstarson Kurbah (20), Sankupar L Tron (23) and Vicky Mawlong (23) – allegedly assaulted Kyrshan Rynjah (39) at Umlyngka, Upper Shillong. Police arrested the accused in connection with assault under case under Lundiengjri PS.
* On October 14 at about 9pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Lamki Dame Pakma at Mihmyntdu, Jowai (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at NEIGRIHMS, Mawdiangdiang.
* On October 12 at around 9:30 pm, Deiwanbha Sungoh allegedly assaulted Shimti Lapasam at Shangpung village (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was admitted at CHC Ialong.
Rape
* On October 18 at about 10:30pm, one Dibay D Sangma (24) allegedly raped a woman aged 18 at Gokul Songgitcham (NGH). Residents of the area apprehended the accused and assaulted him before handing him over to the police.
* On October 12, one Grimnal Makri (40) allegedly raped a minor aged 13 at Nongdom Mawpliang village (RB). Police arrested the accused.
Theft
* On October 18 at around 9:30 pm, security guards of M/s BSC-C&C ‘JV’ apprehended two persons – Yashwan, driver of a Transit Mixture (PB-65F-1789) and his helper Sikender – while they were allegedly stealing diesel from the Transit Mixture at Mawroh village (WKH).
Bags of cement missing
* Ram Niki Pathak of M/s Star Cement, Lumshnong, lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on October 16, eight bags of cement were found missing from a truck (NL-01D-6745) driven by Jurul Haque. However, when the driver was summoned for questioning, he abused and also attacked the manager and officials of the cement company.
Murder
* Police arrested one Hington Wanniang (54) in connection with a murder case under Nongstoin PS.
