Tripura donates Rs.1 crore to Odisha cyclone relief

Agartala: The Tripura government on Wednesday announced a donation of Rs.1 crore towards the relief of flood and cyclone victims in Odisha, a government official said here on Wednesday.
“The Tripura council of ministers chaired by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in a meeting here Tuesday decided to contribute the money (Rs.1 crore) to the Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund soon,” the official said.
The state government estimated the damage from the cyclone and subsequent floods at about Rs.4,242 crore, and requested the central government to provide financial assistance. (IANS)
