Jamboree

The Church of North India, Shillong, will organise a Jamboree on November 7 at All Saint’s Hall from 11 am. The Jamboree will comprise of food stalls, games and music.

Fund raiser

The Meghalaya State Scout & Guide Fellowship will organise a fund raising event on October 26 from 5 pm which will coincide with the International Fellowship Day at the State Headquarters of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Shillong.

Platinum jubilee

The inaugural ceremony of the platinum jubilee of Mawlai Parish will be held on Oct 27 at 10 am on the Parish premises.

Election

The Students’ Bar Association of Law College vide an election has elected RB Kharmawphlang as president and Warren Hieriem as general secretary besides others. The new president has invited all students and teachers to take part in the year-long golden jubilee programme.

Clarification

Apropos the news item CPC seeks intervention… (ST, Oct 24, 2013) the CPC general secretary, JL Das, has clarified that a memento and a shawl were presented  to the President of India  by him and CPC president OP Agarwal respectively, whereas another shawl was presented to the President by the general secretary, Shillong Bangalee Samaj, Naba Bhattacharjee.
