SHILLONG: Nangkiew Irat suffered its second loss in as many games against Malki in the Imperial Blue Shillong Premier League match at Polo Grounds on Saturday.
A combined effort by Malki allowed it a comfortable 3-0 win as the squad inched closer towards claiming second place in the standings.
Malki got off to a positive start with Devinroy Nongspung finding the nets in the 28th minute to place his team ahead. Malki looked the stronger side as it continued to pile pressure on Nangkiew throughout the first half.
Crossing over, Kyrshan Lyngshing doubled the lead for Malki in the 56th minute and Fullmoon Mukhim’s 59th minute goal sealed the tie for Malki.
Meanwhile, Mawkriah West earned a close 1-0 win over Nongmynsong in their Third Division match on Saturday at Polo Grounds. Lapynbha Kharbangar was the lone scorer of the match, finding the nets in the 55th minute.
Monday’s Third Division match will see Rynjah take on Lawsohtun at 1pm at Polo Grounds.
