Plan panel boost for M’laya

New Delhi: The Planning Commission has agreed to allocate more funds under Special Central Assistance programme to Meghalaya for various Centrally-sponsored schemes and flag ship programmes.

An official source informed this after a meeting of the Commission held here on Monday.

Meghalaya Government had submitted an action taken report which was appreciated during Monday’s meeting, the official source said.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma held a meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia here on Saturday and had pressed for the Centre’s support for such programmes.
