SHILLONG: Reisang-pemmi Kasomwoshi scored four goals as Langsning drubbed a weakened Mawlai 6-0 in the second of two Shillong Premier League matches held on Tuesday at the JN Sports Complex.

Kasomwoshi scored the last four goals (34th minute, 48th, 51st, 56th) of the game after Langsning got off to a strong start.

Former Lawmali Pyllun midfielder Teiborlang Shangshai laid the platform for his side, creating an early 13th minute conversion.

Jagjit Singh then doubled the lead in the 26th minute, before Kasomwoshi joined the bandwagon to demolish Mawlai.

Langsning are in fourth place in the table with 15 points to their name.

Mawlai remain last, having lost all nine of their matches so far.

They showed brief glimpses of attacking football, but were let down by poor control of the ball and were unable to dominate possession at all.

In the earlier match, Meghalaya Police FT defeated seventh-placed Pohkseh 2-0.

MLP have now won four games on the trot and have taken fourth place in the standings away from Nangkiew Irat.

The police have 12 points from 10 matches, compared to Nangkiew’s 10 points from nine.

MLP had recorded a huge coup in their 1-0 victory over defending champions Royal Wahingdoh in their last SPL match.

Donbok opened the scoring for MLP in the 38th minute by sending a shot past Pohkseh’s keeper into the net.

Later, Man-of-the-Match Batkupar Lamare gave the promoted side almost no hope of a comeback when he doubled the lead in the 62nd minute.
