SHILLONG: Manbha Lanong’s double strike helped Nongrah secure a comfortable 4-1 victory over Nongmensong in Tuesday’s Third Division match at Polo Ground.
A late 75th minute goal by Skhemboi Hashah saved Nongmensong a few blushes, but by then it was too late for a turnaround.
Earlier, Lanong scored his brace in the 23rd and 26th minutes before Bobby Malngiang scored Nongrah’s third in the 39th.
In the second half, Finestarwell Dina produced a 64th minute shot into goal to give Nongrah a 4-0 lead.
However, they were unable to maintain a clean sheet as Hashah put one in for Nongrah.
On Wednesday, Mawkriah West will play against Assam Regimental Centre at 1pm at Polo Grounds.
