MGNREGS info now a click away

HILLONG: Chief Secretary WMS Pariat officially launched the website of the State Rural Employment Society (SRES) on Thursday at the office chamber of the chief secretary.

Congratulating the SRES for the good design and layout of the website, Pariat hoped that important information relating to MGNREGS will now be accessed by the people of the State with a single click of the mouse.

The portal features included the organizational setup, funds, social audit, reports, gallery, contacts, news and other important information on MGNREGS. The website is hosted by NIC which provides the link to the country and state portals.

The website of SRES is http://www.megsres.nic.in.

The SRES is the state nodal agency for the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Since the SRES has been established by the state government, there is a significant improvement in the management of the MGNREGS all over the State.

The other dignitaries who were present during the launching of the website included Principal Secretary Incharge of Community and Rural Development KN Kumar, Joint Secretary of C & RD and Additional Mission Director of SRES IR Sangma, Principal Secretary Incharge of PWD Y Tsering, Principal Secretary Incharge of Soil and Water Conservation PS Thangkhiew, Senior Tech Director of NIC T Dkhar besides other government officials from other districts of the State.
