Ex-MLA concerned over parking lot misuse

SHILLONG: Former MLA PM Syiem has taken up the issue of alleged misuse of the parking lot near Jhalupara junction by truckers with the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner. Syiem said that the Jhalupara junction, which is being used by the truckers as a place for repairing and parking of the vehicles for long hours, is meant for parking of private vehicles. “If the misuse of this parking space by the truckers is not stopped, the problem of traffic congestion along Lukier Road cannot be tackled,” he said.
