SHILLONG: The KHADC Executive Committee has constituted a five-member Delimitation Committee under the leadership of the District Council Court Judge S Kharsyiemlieh.

As per the official notification issued on October 31, the other members of the committee are J Reenborn, retired judge of the District Council Court, M Kharkrang, joint secretary, KHADC, Edward Kurbah, ex-MLA and M Byrsat Lyngdoh of Nongstoin Syiemship.

“We have asked the committee to submit its report within November 22,” KHADC CEM Pynshngaiñ N Syiem told reporters here on Monday. According to him, the Council would convene a special session sometime in December to retable the proposed Delimitation Bill after incorporating the views and suggestions of the Delimitation Committee. “We would like to hold the upcoming district council elections in the delimited constituencies,” Syiem said.
