Theft

  • One Diwansing Mawlong, driver of truck (ML-05J-1214) lodged a complaint at Sohiong OP that on November 3 at about 9 pm, unidentified miscreants numbering 6-7 armed with pistol and khukri in one Maruti car without registration number, looted Rs. 69,320 from him at Sohiong View Point (EKH). Matter is under enquiry.
  • On November 1 morning, unknown miscreants stole one roll of telecommunication cable valued around Rs. 70,000 and seven batteries valued around Rs. 25,000 from Vodafone Telecommunication tower at Sohryngkham (EKH).
  • On November 1 at around 8:30 am, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer from the house of one Prayag Dutt at CTO, BSNL Residential Complex, Shillong.
  • On October 31 at about 2:30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one laptop computer and cash Rs. 21,000 from the house of one Lifica Nongbet at Pohkseh, Shillong.
  • On October 31 at around 6 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Bolero vehicle (ML-08C-2733) belonging to one Hedaytullah Ansari from Hawakhana junction, Tura (WGH).
  • One Sanjay Prasad lodged a complaint at Umsning OP that on the night of October 27, unknown miscreants stole his Tata Sumo vehicle (ML-10A-6737) from Lum-Nongrim Umsning (RB).

Encroachment

One Semplish Sangma lodged a complaint at Pillangkata OP that one Tngenly Khymdeit had encroached into her land at Pillangkata (RB) and when she went to inspect the land on October 25, he indecently abused her and also threatened her with dire consequences.

Assault

On November 1, one Karlan Tongwah (20) entered the house of one Smarda Nongsiej at Rangmaw village (SWKH) with an intention to commit theft. However, when the house owner raised an alarm, the accused assaulted her with a bottle and fled away with one cell phone. As a result, the victim sustained injuries. On November 3, Police arrested the accused.

Rape

On the night of November 2, one Vara Infimate raped one minor girl (12) at Madanryting, Shillong. Police arrested the accused.

Unclaimed body

One Biman Thapa (40), C/o Aftab Singh, Police Bazar who was admitted in Shillong Civil Hospital on October 20 expired on November 1. His relatives are requested to collect the dead body from the morgue of the hospital within three days failing which dead body will be sent for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
