Meghalayan 2nd in NE carrom

SHILLONG: Representing Meghalaya, Vivek War secured the runner-up position in the North East Zone Carrom Championship, which was held in Nagaon recently.
Arun Singh of Manipur took the title.
War lost 14-19, 8-18 in the final.
The Meghalaya Carrom Association, through a press release issued on Monday, stated that Shanborlang Sawkmie secured third place in the men’s singles category.
Sawkmie was the NE zone champion back in 2010.
Meghalaya, as a team, finished second, behind champions Assam.
The MCA expressed its thanks to the participants, who showed great effort and determination in competing with higher-ranked players from other states of the North East.
The MCA described War as “one of the most disciplined and well-mannered sportsman in the field of carrom in Meghalaya”.
