SHILLONG: A local aspiring young singer pursuing her dreams to be a singer has made to the top 16 at the Northeast Ethnic Fashion and Voice Fusion organised by Better Life Foundation (BLF), Nagaland.
Eighteen year old Pdianghun Kharbithai, a resident of Umpling Dongsharum made her entry into the show through a live video and made it to the mega audition held at Dimapur on October 14.
After being selected at the auditions, there was no turning back for Pdianghun as she made it through the elimination round. To clinch the winner title, voting has begun with sale of voting cards.
“Participation and gaining experience from this platform is important for me. But now since I am through, I would like to win and bring laurels to my family and the State as a whole,” Pdianghun said.
Pdianghun started singing at the age of four and took it seriously when she started composing her own songs during her high school days at Seven Set HS School. Currently pursuing English at the Women’s College, Shillong Pdianghun actively participates in debates.
Urging the people of the State to vote for her to be able to go for the second round which will be held on November 29 at Aizawl, Pdianghun said, “I have not gone State wide to appeal for votes, but the voting cards are circulated by my family and friends.”
In order to create a vibrant platform, identify, nurture and promote local artist and ethnic fashion designers in global market, the entertainment project covers Assam, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland.
Through this platform, the BLF hopes to promote potential local singers by exposing them to professional mentors and prepare them physically and mentally for a larger platform. Apart from cash prizes, the winner and the first runner-up will be taken on promotional tours abroad in London where they will be exposed to the trends in the global market.
Further, the designers’ collections will be promoted through its media partners, magazines, print, visual and other social media to promote them for bigger platforms.
