SHILLONG: Shillong Assamese Ladies Welfare Club observed 2nd death anniversary of Dr Bhupen Hazarika on the Assam Club premises in the city on November 5.
Deben Das attended the programme as the chief guest. Those who spoke on include Dhyaan Sharma, Gyanada Kakoti, Achuyut Bhattachejee.
Speaking on the occasion, Binu Hazarika, president of Shillong Assamese Ladies Welfare Club, highlighted several aspects of Dr Hazarika’s life and creations. Kalpana Das, Juthika Goswami Medhi presented Dr Hazarika’s songs. The women members of Laban Assamese Namghar, presented devotional song (Naam).
