Kohima: The annual Hornbill Rock Contest, which has been elevated to international level this year, will be held from December 6 to 10 at Naga Solidarity Park here.

The Rock Contest would be an integral part of the Hornbill International Music Festival 2013, organisers said.

Of the 27 bands to take part in it, five would be local and the rest would be selected from over 60 applicants from within the country and abroad, Music Task Force Project Director, Gugs Chishi, told a press conference on Wednesday night.

Hornbill International Rock Contest event director Neingulie Nakhro said five slots have been reserved for Nagaland bands, out of which, the organisers unanimously decided to grant two direct entries for NSACS ZERO 2013 winners, Making Merry and Rock Reign 2013 Mokokchung winners – Infuse. (PTI)
