SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) has condemned the brutal killing of five police personnel in South Garo Hills recently by GNLA militants stating that the killing of the police personnel has undermined the proper functioning and break down of the criminal-justice system.
“The current break down of the law and order situation in Garo Hills speaks volumes about the insecurity and threat that ordinary people feel after the incident,” Chairman of MPHRC, Dino D. G. Dympep said .
RTI on killing
The CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing filed an RTI application with the police on Thursday on the nature of killing of five policemen during the ambush by the GNLA militants. The police referred the application to South Garo Hills SP for his reply.
