One killed, six injured in Manipur blast

Imphal: A man was killed and six others were injured in a bomb blast near Pallel police station at Thoubal district on Wednesday night.

Police said some workers were resting at the place where the blast occurred. The injured were undergoing treatment at separate hospitals.

Police said a few explosions were heard and suspect that several IEDs could have been planted earlier to carry out the explosion.

Police today conducted a search of the site. A series of blasts had rocked the state in recent time.

A powerful bomb ripped apart some vehicles at Majorkhul, Thangal bazaar on November 2. None was injured. So far three blasts have been reported at Thangal bazar.

A bomb went off on October 18 at Thangal bazar. On October 29 there was another blast at Dharmashala in which five persons sustained injuries.

On October 30 a bomb exploded at Moirangkhom which left three dead and five injured. (UNI)
