Holiday

The Principal Secretary, GAD, has informed that all Government offices, Revenue, Magisterial courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills would remain closed on Nov 14 on account of Nongkrem Dance.

Anniversary

The KSU Laskein Circle will observe the 151st death anniversary of Jaintia martyr Kiang Nangbah on November 30 at Laskein village. The KSU will also present the Maitshaphrang academic awards to meritorious students of the area. Details on the same can be obtained from the office of KSU Iooksi Unit, NANA Printing & Scanning, Mowkaiaw, Dukan U Rocky Lyngdoh, Raliang and KAMAR stores, Sahsniang.

Nongkrem Dance

Governor Dr. KK Paul will attend the annual Shad Pomblang (Nongkrem Dance). Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma will also attend the Nongkrem Dance on November 14 at Smit.

Annual Day

The office of the Commandant Central Training Institute, Civil Defence and Home Guards will celebrate its annual day on December 6 at the parade ground of civil defence and home guards complex at Mawdiangdiang. Governor Dr. KK Paul will be the chief guest.

Public meeting

KHNAM Mawlai Constituency Committee would hold a public meeting at the playground of the Basic School, Mawlai Nongkwar, on November 16 to discuss the demand for implementation of the ILP. Party leaders and others prominent speakers would deliberate on the issue of ILP.

Deferred

The members of the Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW), Meghalaya State Branch, have informed that due to holiday on Nov 14, the celebration of Children’s Day has been deferred to Nov 15 at 11.30 am at the Creche premises.
