SHILLONG: CSWO President Agnes Kharshiing, who came out of the Shillong Jail on Saturday afternoon after she was granted bail on Friday, asserted that she would carry on with her mission to ensure justice to the needy.
Outside the Shillong jail, her NGO members and the people including children who were evicted from Umsawli, received her with garlands and wishes, as she walked out of the prison gate.
She lambasted the police by saying that while her charge sheet was fast tracked by the Police, there are several FIRs related to crime including rape and corruption cases pending with the police.
“Police was so fast that within one week, they filed charge sheet against me. I will find out through RTI how many cases are pending to be charges sheeted under Rynjah police station”, Kharshiing said.
The case against Kharshiing for trying to obstruct the eviction drive at Umsawli at New Shillong Township was filed at Rynjah police station.
