SHILLONG: Police on Tuesday arrested a KHNAM activist — Anthony Kharbuli — for instigating the crowd during a meeting called by CSWO on September 25.

Informing this here on Tuesday, M Kharkrang, SP, East Khasi Hills, said Kharbuli (48) was arrested from Spring Side in the city for instigating the crowd during a meeting called by CSWO. Later, a procession was taken out at Motphran. It may be mentioned that six police personnel including five women cops were injured when members of the Khasi Women Welfare and Development Association (KWWDA) and the CSWO pelted stones on the on-duty police personnel during the procession at Motphran.
