JOWA: Jowai town plunged into darkness on Thursday night following a major system breakdown in Khliehriat.
As per reports, the electricity went off at around 6 pm and the restoration work continued till 10.30 pm.
The power failure has affected students badly since it is their examination time.
When contacted, West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner PS Dkhar said that he was told that a major breakdown in Khliehriat led to this power failure.
