SHILLONG: Ending its three-day hunger strike at Nongthymmai on Friday, the Association of Qualified Grade IV, 2011, East Khasi Hills said that it would intensify its agitation as the government has failed to respond to its demands.

“We were anticipating that there would be some response from the government during the hunger strike but it is disappointing that the authorities chose to remain silent. Hence we have decided to intensify our agitation to put pressure on the government to appoint all the qualified candidates,” the association’s general secretary Skhemborlang Pyngrope said reminding that 125 qualified candidates are yet to be appointed.
