SHILLONG: A book titled Parliamentary Democracy in India: Experiences and Prospects published by Synod College was published by Deputy Chief Minister Rowel Lyngdoh at the Conference Hall of the College here on Monday.

The book is a compilation of 13 papers presented in the two-day National Conference conducted in June 2012 and has been co-edited by Batskhem Myrboh and Airpeace W Rani.

Speaking at the function, Lyngdoh remarked that Indian Parliamentary democracy has survived many problems and is still a vibrant system of governance.

The programme was attended by teachers, research scholars, NGO leaders, church leaders and students.
