Body recovered

lOn November 27, one unidentified male body was recovered from Khlieh Iewduh, Shillong.

lOn November 26 at around 10:30 am, one unidentified decomposed male body (24/25) apparently Garo, was fished out from Thwai Laroit Umpowai (WJH). Cadaver sent to CH Jowai for post mortem.

Assault

lOn November 26 at about 11.30 am, one unidentified person who came in one vehicle (ML-05E-5227) assaulted one Sebestian Basaiawmoit at Malki petrol pump, Shillong.

lOn the night of November 26, one Starling Biam assaulted his wife, Violet Phawa (40) at Puriang village (EKH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong.

lPolice arrested one Thwanstar Mawlong (33) in connection with Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty under Mairang PS.

lOn November 25 at about 7:45pm, one woman – B Kharsohnoh – allegedly assaulted Strongly Kharlor (19) with a bottle at Nongumlong, Upper Shillong. As a result, the victim sustained minor injuries. The matter is under enquiry.

lMedini Gogoi of Meghalaya Cement Ltd, Thangskai, lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on November 24 at about 8:30 pm, Daniel Thomas Momin assaulted Naresh Mandal, a mechanic with the company, with a knife at Thangskai (EJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to MCL Hospital.

Murder

Headman of Balakhawa village lodged a complaint (November 26) at Patharkhmah OP that one Mohen Rabha (35) was found missing from his house since August 2013. When everybody had almost forgotten about him thinking that he had ran away, they recently found his body from a septic tank at Balakhawa village (RB). The Headman accused his own son-in-law, Soloram Rabha (28) of murdering Mohen Rabha and dumping the body in a septic tank at Balakhawa village (RB). Police arrested the accused and stated that the motive behind the murder will be clear only after investigation.

Theft

lOn November 25 at about 4 am, unknown miscreants stole one motorcycle (ML-09A-2404) belonging to one Gongsin S. Marak from Gittinggre village (SGH).

lAnand Kumar Jha, Manager of BSC CC & JV Company lodged a complaint at Mairang PS that on the night of November 22, unknown miscreants stole thirty-two reinforcement cut-band and twenty metres of cable from their camp at Kynshi (WKH).

lOn November 26 at around 8:30am, unknown miscreants stole Rs 18,000 and two gold rings from the house of Titi Kharshandi at Umkdait, Nongmynsong.

lOn the night of November 23, unknown miscreants stole a Mahindra pick-up vehicle (ML-07B-1641) belonging to Lobith Sangma from New Rangmalgre village (EGH).

Fraud

Fr. Januarius S. Sangma, Headmaster, Don Bosco Secondary School Tura lodged a complaint at Tura PS that November 20 at about 12.30 pm, one Thomas A. Sangma fraudulently withdrew Rs. 45,000 from the account of the school at SBI, Chandmari Branch, by forging the signatures of the complainant and the Asst. Headmaster of the school.

Inconvenience caused

One Bankyrshan Kshiar lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that during the month of October and November 2013, one Khemas Swet (42) caused inconvenience to a minor girl aged (13), a student of St. Mary School, Laitumkhrah. Police arrested the accused.

Missing

Regarding missing report of Tribirth Shira (12), further information indicates that the missing boy has returned home.

Arrests

lPolice arrested one Robert Riangsiang, Maselinus Puwein and Siio Puwein in connection house trespass and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons under Nongstoin PS.

lPolice arrested one Bablu Kalita (18) in connection with extortion under Mendipathar PS.

lPolice arrested one boy (18) in connection with a criminal trespass case under Khliehriat PS.

Unidentified body

lThe dead body of one unidentified female who was killed after being hit by a vehicle at Mawlai Nangkabrin on Tuesday has been kept in the morgue of Civil Hospital for claim and identification. The woman (45-50) was wearing a blue colour blouse, red colour petticoat, yellow colour sari, purple colour shawl and a green colour bag. She is 4’7 ft tall with fair complexion. The relative and known persons are requested to contact police control room or Lumdiengjri Traffic Branch over phone numbers-0364-2222277/2548083/9436100012.

lOne, (L) Jeevan Roy (45) of Lad Rymbai was admitted at NEIGRIHMS on December 2012. He however, passed away on November 24. The dead body was sent to Civil Hospital for post mortem examination and still lying at the hospital morgue for 72 hours. He is 5’2 ft tall with fair complexion with short cropped hair and he was wearing a pink long pant and long shirt. Relatives or persons known to him are requested to verify and collect the dead body from the hospital morgue or contact police control room at 0364-2222277.
