NONGSTOIN: A godown belonging to D Diengdoh was gutted by a devastating fire at Nongstoin market on Saturday morning. Sources informed that the fire broke out from inside the shop at 4 AM.
The cause of the incident was traced out to be from an electric short circuit. The entire godown was reduced to ashed in about an hour. Neighbours as well as the fire and emergency service team from Nongstoin tried hard to douse the fire but it was too late for them and not even a single item could be recovered. The losses incurred have been estimated to cross crores of rupees with many shopkeepers using the godown facility to store their goods.
