SHILLONG: Fresh from two consecutive defeats against Sporting Clube de Goa and Bengaluru FC, Salgaocar FC will have their task cut out when they take on hosts Shillong Lajong FC in a round 13 I-League encounter at the JN Stadium, Polo, on Friday at 5:00pm.

One of the more experienced coaches in Indian football, Derrick Pereira said his side are under no kind of pressure owing to their recent performances but hinted at a change or two in the playing XI for the fixture against the Reds.

Shillong Lajong coach, Thangboi Singto, on the other hand, was concerned about the team’s not so rosy home record this season and stressed that that needs to be rectified sooner rather than later.

“We have to change our home result fortunes and the onus is on us to do well tomorrow against a top team,” Singto said on Thursday.

However, what could be worrisome for the hosts is that their three main foreigners – Uilliams Silva, Cornell Glen and Minchol Son – are not in the best shape in terms of their fitness.

Uilliams was fielded for just 45 minuntes in the game against Bengaluru and the final call on him will be taken on Friday. Glen and Minchol are suffering from minor ankle injuries and should be ready for Friday’s encounter.
