Woman missing

SHILLONG: A woman identified as llinda Marwein (40) who was working at Bangalore since 2011, was reported missing from the place, since March 2013.
However, it is suspected that the missing person is staying at Kaliachak village, Malda District, West Bengal. The younger sister Rinalin Marwein has lodged an FIR at Nongstoin Police Station.

Entry date for Miss Ri Bhoi extended

NONGPOH: In view of the tremendous response to the 6th Miss Ri Bhoi District, the Lynti Jam Welfare Association (LJWA) on Friday extended the date for submission of entry form from December 5 to December 13, 2013.

Mourning

The Governor will not attend the Shillong Cricket Association Platinum Jubilee function on Dec 7 and the Tura Winter Festival on Dec 9 due to the State mourning declared by the Govt of India on account of the demise of Nelson Mandela.

Prohibition

North Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner W Khyllep has prohibited the random collection of sand from bed of river Damring which passed through Resubelpara. The prohibitory order will remain in force till the end of December.

Workshop

The office of the Director of Census Operations, Meghalaya will organise a two day workshop on Data Dissemination of Census, 2011 in order to sensitize the data users and also hands on training on census info software on December 10 and 11 at Yalana Hotel, Laitumkhrah from 10 am.
