SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma has taken strong exception to the allegations made by the BJP delegation to Shillong that he did not give them an audience owing to his ‘busy schedule.’
Dr Sangma said that he had a pre-arranged programme to attend the Platinum Jubilee celebration of Tura Government Boy’s Higher Secondary School and left Shillong for Tura at about 10.30 am on Friday much before the delegation of ministers and legislators from Gujarat had arrived in the city.
The Chief Minister, who attended a series of programmes in Garo Hills on Saturday, said there was no question of denying any delegation an audience on the plea of a ‘busy schedule’ if he had been in station.
Earlier on Friday, the Gujarat delegation comprising of BJP ministers had told a news conference that they could not meet the chief minister due to his busy schedule.
The BJP delegation had arrived here in connection with the setting up of a commemorative statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
