Award
The Urban Affairs Department is implementing the Clean and Green Locality award where two localities under Shillong Municipal Board will be selected for the award. Cash prizes will be awarded to localities that are judged the best based on various criteria and the selected locality will also be given a chance to propose a scheme for the development of the locality.
Postponed
The proposed one-day regional conference on Legal framework on Conservation of Forest and Environment and Implementation of Environmental Safeguards at Hotel Polo Towers on December 11 has been postponed due to the prevailing law and order situation in the city.
The Meghalaya State Commission for Women (MSCW) has decided to postpone the State-level Interactive Workshop on women’s issues scheduled to be held at Raitong Building on December 10. Fresh date for the Workshop would be announced later.
The Principal of St. Edmund’s School has informed that declaration of results for students of Classes IV-VII has been re-scheduled to December 13 from 9 am to 11 am.
Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong Mawlai Mawdatbaki will organise a cleaning drive in the locality on December 20 from 9 am. Vehicles except those engaged in the drive are not allowed to park or enter the locality except the main road (Short Round Road) from Bus Stand to FCI Godown and the Main Road from the Bus Stand to NEHU campus via Shillong Polytechnic are open for vehicular traffic.
The Nongpoh Proper Dorbar Shnong will organise a cleaning drive on Dec 14 from 8 am till 4 pm.
Nongmynsong Dorbar Shnong will organise a cleaning drive on Dec 12. The Dorbar has informed that no vehicles would be allowed to enter the locality till the cleaning drive is completed.
Celebration
Christ International School, Umiam, will organise the Fourth Carol participation and peace celebration on Dec 14 on the school premises.
Meeting
