Cabinet clears CD Saylo’s appointment in MeECL

SHILLONG: The State Cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to appoint CD Saylo as the Chief Technical Adviser (Transmission and Distribution) in the in the state-owned Meghalaya Electricity Corporation Limited (MeECL).

Saylo was a former director of the MeECL.

Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, while informing of the development, said that the decision is linked to harnessing the potential for increasing the generation and regulating the overall functioning of MeECL and all other entities under the MeECL.

MBoSE affiliation draft: Besides, the State Cabinet also approved the draft regulation for the affiliation of schools under Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE).

The Chief Minister stated that so far the overall methodology adopted has not been properly regulated which also includes ensuring various parameters required to be fulfilled by the secondary and higher secondary schools when they move for permanent affiliation with the MBoSE.

Dr Sangma clarified that the permanent affiliation of secondary and higher secondary schools is the job of the MBoSE, whereas granting of permission and recognition will be the job of the Department of School Education.
