Govt awards

State Government will award laptops to meritorious students during the IT awards ceremony which will be held at Yojana Bhawan at 4 pm on December 19. IT minister AL Hek will be the chief guest on the occasion. Final list of eligible candidates can be viewed at the IT department website www.dit-meghalaya.gov.in

Cleaning Drive

Laban Dorbar Shnong will conduct a cleaning drive on December 18 from 8 am to 12 noon in the area within its jurisdiction.
Dorbar Shnong, Lamavilla  will commemorate the death anniversary of  poet laureate  U Soso Tham on December 18 by organising a cleaning drive in the locality from 7 am. Later a wreath will also be laid at the poet’s bust at State Central Library.

Award

The Dorbar Shnong of Lower Lumparing will organise the 2nd Academic Award s on December 18 at 3 pm at the Lumparing Sports Club Hall.

Office Bearers

The YMCA, Shillong in its meeting elected  Mr Mylliemngap as its president,  Malcolm Tariang as vice president and Gideon Kharkongor as the treasurer for the year 2013-14. The directors are DD Lapang, CO Rangad besides others. The members of YMCA also celebrated Christmas with the children of NEIMA Oprhanage  at Pynursula.

Felicitation

The Seng Kynthei, Mawlai Pyllun felicitated three students from the area who secured positions in the Class X (MBOSE) examinations. The Seng Kynthei Mawlai Pyllun had started felicitating students since 2003 with the money it received as an award from the Ministry of Food and Civil Supply Government of India in the year 2002 for the pro-active role in improving PDS.

Inauguration

Hope Education and Welfare Society will inaugurate the Hope Computer Centre on December 17. Advisor to Meghalaya Government, DD Lapang will be the chief guest on the occasion.
