Raffle draw

The Nongthymmai Football Ground witnessed immense fanfare on Saturday, following the Dorbar Dong Lumbasuk ‘A’ conducting the food festival-cum-raffle draw, which was initially scheduled to be held on October 5. In all there were thirteen prizes won by people from various parts of the State. The prizes included a Maruti 8oo car, Yamaha FZ motor bike, one tola of gold and mobile handsets.

Peace vigil

The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides will organise a peace vigil in the form of all faith prayer meeting on December 19 at 12.45 pm as a part of the Messenger of Peace initiative in the state.

Awards

Lady Keane College, Shillong will hand over the Keanean Arts& Science Students Awards, 2013 at the college seminar hall on December 17. A book by Assistant Professor, Department of English, Lady Keane College, MY Tham , wil also be released on the occasion. Chief Secretary WMS Pariat will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Annual function

The annual function-cum-cultural programme of the Garo Students Union, Ri Bhoi regional unit will be held on December 14 at Rangsakona, 15th mile at 9 am.

Birth anniv

The organising committee of the 99th Birth Anniversary of Prabhupad 108 Sri Sri Radharaman Goswami will celebrate the occasion from December 16-18.

Road closure

In view of the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which includes a 10 KM run, conducted by MPSC for MPS candidates, the 5 KM stretch of road from Mawdiangdiang next to Border Wing Home Guards Office till Tynring village will be closed to all heavy vehicles from 7.00 AM to 5.00 PM from December 17 to 21. Passenger buses have been exempted from the closure even as vehicles plying through the route have been requested to move slowly during the mentioned period.

Conference

The National Sample Survey Office, Field operations division will organise its regional training conference on NSS 71st Round from December 16-17 at Raitong Building.
