SHILLONG: The past nexus between Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma and the ANVC-B came to the fore with the latter cautioning Sangma to remember what they did for him.

Annoyed over the arrest of ANVC.B cadre Tengseng T Sangma, who was coming home for Christmas, the ANVC-B Publicity Secretary, Doang Shira in a statement issued here on Tuesday said, ” Dr Mukul Sangma must remember what we did for him instead of making us targets”.

However, the rebel leader did not elaborate on what the militant group did for the Chief Minister.

“Mr. Chief Minister has cheated our organization with his political gigs. ANVC-B stresses that the Government should speed up the peace settlement or the Government must prepare for a walk out”, Shira said

The ANVC-B leader said that there is a desperate attempt by the State Government to wipe out ANVC-B cadres before the upcoming elections so that the ANVC-B is finished off and the Congress gets majority.

According to ANVC (B) leader, the arrested cadre was visiting his family for Christmas and was not having any demand note during his arrest.

“We do not have any demand notes and those who visit their families never carry any documents. The Government, police and the parent group ANVC must stop pushing us as this will only make things worse in Garo Hills”, the ANVC-B asserted.
