Itanagar:  The Peoples’ Party of Arunachal (PPA) today criticised the state government for creating administrative centers in the state when there are no matching resources in its coffer.
PPA’s chief ministerial candidate Laeta Umbrey said that the whole exercise for creating administrative centers was the state government’s way of dangling a lollipop before the electorate in the battle of hustings. Citing examples, Umbrey said that Pidi circle in West Siang district, which was created more than 3 decades ago, has no infrastructure worth the name, and that the ADC office in Mechukha is manned by a fresh IAS recruit and a circle officer but has no extra assistant commissioner.
“Instead of going on a spree of declaring districts and circle headquarters, the government should concentrate on meeting the bare requirements of the existing setup and ‘consider genuine cases based on HRD indices, sizes of the areas and demography of the proposed district or circle,” Umbrey said.
