2 more bodies recovered from violence-hit Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: Tension continues to grip the violence affected areas under Chokihola Police  Station in Karbi Anglong hill district of Assam following recovery of bodies of two aged women  on Monday from Rengma Naga inhabited Sathi village.
With the recovery of the two bodies, the death toll due to attack on Rengma Naga inhabited  settlements by Karbi tribe militant group, Karbi People’s Liberation Tiger (KPLT) has gone up  to 10 since December 27.
Police informed that total 1500 panic-gripped Rengma Naga villagers have taken shelter in  three relief camps set up under  Chokihola police station area in the hill district. The bodies  of the two aged women were recovered from Sathi village under Chokihola police station. Police claimed that the women were killed during the attack by militant in the early morning of  December 27.
Seven houses of Rengma Naga villagers were burnt down by miscreants on Sunday night and it has  created fresh tension in the area. Police today arrested ten persons in connection with the burning down of houses. Additional forces have been deployed in the area to prevent escalation of violence.
