Deplorable condition of Jowai-Malidor highway

JOWAI: The AJYWO has demanded the immediate repair of the National Highway 44 from Jowai to Malidor which is in an appalling condition.
“If the government fails to do so, we will have no other option but to sort out our own course of action, AJYWO president, MH Dkhar said in a statement issued here.
The NH-44 is one of the most important highways as connect several important cities in the North-East including, Silchar, Aizawl, Tripura and others. The deplorable condition of the road has created great inconvenient to the commuters.
“We understand that the NHAI is supposed to improve the road condition but we demand that the State government repairs the road as it is the responsibility of the State government to see that people should not suffer”, Dkhar added.
