Young Guns brush aside Venom Speed in SCL

SHILLONG: Despite their name, Venom Speed were not potent enough and lost an SCA First Division Cricket League match by 81 runs to Young Guns at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Sunday.
Venom Speed won the toss and put the opposition in to bat first.
Beeru Chettri’s thumping innings of 73 from just 44 balls, with nine fours and two sixes, helped Young Guns to make 209 all out in 35 overs.
Roshan Ram took 4/32 runs in six overs.
In reply, Venom Speed were dimissed for only 128 in 31.1 overs.
Deepak Thapa top-scored for the struggling team with a contribution of 32 runs from 53 balls, with two fours, while Jameel Sah bagged 4/25 from a full complement of seven overs.
The next match will be between Super Division sides NFU and Malki SCC on Monday at 9:00am.
