Molestation bid

Serjekha Momin lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that on January 2 at about 4 pm, one Doctor Marak attempted to outrage her modesty and also threatened her with dire consequences at Daram Akakhi in North Garo Hills.

Arson cases

  • P Goswami, Branch Manager, SBI Mawlai, lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on January 2, unknown miscreants damaged the monitor screen of an SBI ATM at Mawlai Motsyiar, Shillong.
  • Dr. DI Kjam, AH & V Officer, Saitsama, lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on December 30, 2013, unknown miscreants set fire to a haystack at Saitsama in West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the haystack was gutted.

Threat case

Mari Dhar lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on December 26, 2013 one Donbok Ryngkhlem and his wife Wailad Langstang threatened her and her family members with dire consequences at Madan Mulain, Shangpung in West Jaintia Hills.

Unclaimed bodies

  • On January 5, the decomposed body of one Paulus Nongbah Biam was recovered from Thwaiwadong, Barato village in West Jaintia Hills.
  • On January 7, the body of one mentally-challenged person Olimot Kharsyntiew (45) was found hanging in the verandah of the house belonging to Korilian Kharsyntiew at Mawhiangbah village in East Khasi Hills. Necessary formalities have been observed and the cadaver was handed over to the relatives.
  • On December 26, 2013 around 9 am, Geding Syiemiong (85) was found unconscious at Polo Bazar, Shillong. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong, where the Medical Officer on duty declared him brought dead.
  • On January 1, one unknown tribal male aged around 50 years fell down at Nongstoin Parking Lot and was shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong where he expired on January 3. His body has been kept at the Hospital morgue for identification.
