SHILLONG: Madanryting CC pulled off a tight victory over Langsning CC, winning by just one wicket and with one ball to spare in a First Division Cricket League match at the Cricket Ground, Polo, on Saturday.
Chasing a target of 162 for victory, Madanryting rode on the half-century of Andy Kharkongor (57 off 79 balls) to win the match. The batsman struck six fours in his innings.
Nine wickets were lost in the chase, with Mackie D Blah taking 3/26 in seven overs.
Earlier, Langsning, who won the toss, put up a total of 161 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 35 overs.
Eugine K Syntiew made 46 runs (three 4s), while Pynskhem Diengdoh made 35 (six 4s).
Arbor Wankhar took 1/21 in five overs.
The next match will also be in the First Division, between Keating Road and Wahingdoh CC at 9:00am.
