Theft

Country Khongmalai lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar PS that on January 9 at about 4:50 pm, one Bakhraw Khongwir and his accomplices stole Rs. 1,500 from her bag at MTC Station, Police Bazar, Shillong.

On January 7 around 11 pm, unknown miscreants stole one new truck (ML-04B-8276) belonging to Rahimuddin Barbhuiya from Borsora (SWKH).

Body recovered

Regarding missing report of Ujjal Dkhar (54) from Barapathar, Shillong. Further details received indicate that on January 9 around 4 pm, his body was recovered from bushes behind Mathura Compound at Jhalupara, Shillong with injuries on the left eye. Necessary formalities were observed and matter is under enquiry.
On January 1 around 10:45 pm, the body of Ditya Hajong (35) was found lying on the roadside between Ampati and Salguri (SWGH). Necessary formalities have been observed and matter is under enquiry.

Woman shot dead

On January 9 at about 9 pm, two motorcycle borne miscreants went to the house of Drenilish B. Sangma (43 yrs) at Ane Aga village under Bajengdoba PS (NGH), took her outside the house and shot her dead.

Threat

D.S Rai, General Manager (C) & HOP, Mawphu HE Project Stage-II, NEEPCO Ltd., lodged a complaint at Mawsynram PS that on January 4, residents of Mawphu village armed with a gun went to the construction site at Mawphu (EKH) and threatened the workers and damaged the drilling pipes.

Arrest

Jowai Police have arrested Wan O. Dhar (25) and Eimomi Rymbai (23) in connection with a murder case under Jowai PS.

Arson

Md. Habibor Rahman lodged a complaint at Tikrikilla PS that on December 21, 2013 around 10:30 pm, unknown miscreants set fire to his grocery shop at Tikrikilla (WGH). As a result, the shop was totally gutted. Loss of property is estimated at Rs. 5,50,000/- approximately.
