ter Dr. Mukul Sangma on Tuesday hit out against BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, saying any person with a fundamentalist background cannot become the Prime Minister of the country.

“In the context of India, a man with this fundamentalist background will not be the Prime Minister,” Dr. Sangma said.

Dr. Sangma also observed that AICC leader Rahul Gandhi would become the Prime Minister of India.

Speaking to a group of media persons, Dr. Sangma termed Modi as ‘ambitious and hard working but impatient’.

Reacting to Modi as being one of the most successful chief ministers of the country, Dr. Sangma said, “I would be very happy if you can send the Manipur Chief Minister to Gujarat and send Modi to Manipur.”

Arguing that Modi was enjoying his third term as Chief Minister, Dr. Sangma said, “Any chief minister having the privilege of being in power for the third straight term would be able to demonstrate success because of the good things happening in the country.”

Gujarat is not exceptional, the Chief Minister said, adding that development has come in all places where stability is there, be it Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh or Bihar.

Dr. Sangma also stated that earlier people were looking for jobs that earned them a meager Rs 30 or Rs 40 since unemployment was rampant and a large number of people had to live in slums, but because of the revolutionary decisions taken to improve the standard of life of daily wage earners and new job opportunities being provided to the people, the situation has vastly improved.
