TURA: Meghalaya Police will be handing over to ballistic experts the crude bombs which were reportedly seized from the ANVC-B camp at Daren Agal after a gun battle on Saturday last and also evidence from the AOC petrol pump blast site to check for similarities, if any, between the two.
Police sized nine crude bombs, each weighing five kg, from the Daren Agal camp of the outfit hours after a bomb ripped through on a road next to AOC petrol pump, Tura, damaging two vehicles.
While a nascent militant outfit A’chik Tiger Force (ATF) had claimed responsibility for the blast, police are not taking chances.
“We will go by the report of the ballistics experts and see whether there is any connection between the two incidents,” said the DGP.
He added that the experts will investigate to ascertain the materials used in the device that exploded at AOC petrol pump and others recovered from Daren Agal.
