Directive for installation of CCTV cameras on petrol pump premises

TURA: In view of the law and order problems in West Garo Hills and motivated attacks in one or two instances in and around petrol pumps, district Deputy Commissioner, Pravin Bakshi, has issued a notification to all owners and proprietors of petrol pumps that it has become imperative to install CCTV cameras to closely monitor any unsavory incident or militant attack.

A request in this connection has been made to all concerned with the management of petrol pumps and service stations along with the offices of oil companies and members and office bearers of associations and unions that CCTV cameras need to be installed in and around petrol pumps at all strategic locations so as to cover and capture the activities of outsiders and attacks on these petrol pumps.

The directive was also issued to all business establishments, market associations, chambers of commerce and other associations to ensure decrease in cases of extortion and illegal acts which will be captured on camera and shall facilitate better security and investigation if any anti social activity or attack arises or is detected, Bakshi informed
