Calendar

The Meghalaya Calendar 2014, both multi pages and single pages, will be put on sale from January 20 from 11 am to 2 pm, till stock lasts, at the office of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Lower Lachumiere, Shillong.

Voters’ Day

The National Voters’ Day 2014 will be held in East Khasi Hills District on January 25. To mark the occasion, Office of the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District, will organise various competition such as on-air competition, debate competition and painting competition followed by the National Voters’ Day celebration.

Award

Meghalaya Tourism was awarded the Best Stall for projection and display at the recently concluded Travel and Tourism Fair at the Chennai Convention Centre, Tamil Nadu, from January 10-12. A large number of people visited the Meghalaya Tourism stall where first-hand information was provided to people with promotional publicity materials.

Meghalaya Day

Meghalaya Day 2014 celebrations will be held at the U Soso Tham Auditorium on January 21 from 3 pm. Deputy Chief Minister Prof. RC Laloo will be the chief guest.

Condolence

Members of Meghalaya Indian Chinese Welfare Association (MICWA) condoled the demise of its member, Shingly Nongkhlaw, owner of New World Restaurant, who breathed his last on January 15.
