HILLONG: The Congress on Thursday released the list of candidates for the 26 seats in the KHADC.

The candidates for remaining three seats– Laitumkhrah-Malki, Nongkrem and Nongthymmai– would be announced along with the candidates for the JHADC on Friday.

Talking to newsmen, MPCC president DD Lapang said that tickets were awarded keeping the winnability factor in mind.

Among the prominent are three sitting MLAs- GAD Minister HDR Lyngdoh from Sohiong, KHADC CEM, Pynshngain N Syiem from Mawsynram and Ronnie V Lyngdoh from Mylliem.

Manstudy Nongrem (Langrin), Lamphrang Blah (Mawphlang-Diengiei), Jansing Tynsong (Lyngkyrdem-Laitkroh) and Marbok Kharpran (Sohryngkham) are among the sitting Congress MDCs in the list.

Interestingly, the MPCC State Election Committee (SEC) has decided to keep Laitumkhrah-Malki and Nongkrem pending despite having sitting MDCs in the form of Antonio War and Lambor Malngiang.

Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh’s nephew Diverland Lyngdoh and Health and Family Welfare Minister AL Hek’s nephew Rocky Hek were given the ticket for Mawkyrwat and Mawkhar-Pynthorumkhrah seats respectively.
