SHILLONG: In a shocking incident, unidentified miscreants made an unsuccessful bid to abduct a twelve-year-old girl from Lapalang, Shillong, on Thursday evening.
Police informed that unidentified miscreants attempted to abduct the minor in a Maruti Van from Lapalang area, but abandoned her near her residence in the same locality.
Police said the minor girl, who is undergoing treatment in a city hospital, is traumatized and unable to give her statement.
The minor was injected with some ‘object’, police said, while informing that a boy and a girl were involved in the failed attempt.
While ruling out rape of the minor, police said that a clear picture will emerge once the victim’s statement is recorded.
