Mukul, Lapang return from Guwahati Airport

SHILLONG: Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma and MPCC president DD Lapang on Friday rushed to Guwahati on their way to Delhi to attend an emergent meeting of the AIC, but had to return from the Guwahati Airport after learning that the meeting had been postponed.
Sources informed that both Dr. Sangma and Lapang rushed to Guwahati together after they were asked to attend the emergent meeting in Delhi.
“On reaching the Airport, they received information that the meeting had been postpone. Both of them decided to return in view of the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday,” sources said.
Incidentally, a proposed meeting of the MPCC State Election Committee to announce the party candidates for the JHADC election had to be postponed since both the Chief Minister and the MPCC president were absent.
The MPCC meeting will now be held on Monday.
